VIC STUDIO KTH
I was one of the speakers at the Open Data for Academics Workshop was held at VIC Studio on the 6th of May 2015. My presentation was about the Open Knowledge Foundation and the Global Open Data Index (GODI) project. The GODI project is an annually updated ranking list of the openness of government data that is provided by every country involved. Naturally my presentation was mostly about GODI in Sweden, its current rank and a comparison with other thriving countries. The goal was to inform and highlight the importance of getting higher up in the rankings to enable value creation and sustainability.

According to Global Data Index, Sweden ranked 8th among almost 100 countries in 2013, in 2014 we went down to 12th.

The following are so called “Key Datasets”, categories which the data is based on.

  • Transport Timetables
  • Government Budget
  • Government Spending
  • Election Results
  • Company Register
  • National Map
  • National Statistics
  • Legislation
  • Postcodes / Zipcodes
  • Emissions of pollutants
